I believe I am a very practical designer. Even as a young girl, I started sewing my own clothes. My idea of what a garment should look like was so precise that it was almost impossible to buy it. Moreover, I grew up in the GDR, and the selection of clothes was quite small.
The clothes had to be a true reflection of me, my attitude towards life, they had to be completely 'me'. It didn't matter to me whether they followed fashion trends or not. If I had a favorite piece, I wished it would last forever, never break, just grow with me.

This is still an important aspect of my work as a designer today. I enjoy revising a product again and again, incorporating my own experiences with the garment, the cut, material, or knitting technique after each season. In this way, the sweaters or cardigans always stay with me. They change slightly in color and material, or sometimes in small details that probably hardly anyone notices... but their essence remains. I have a very personal relationship with them. Wolfen works closely with manufacturers who understand this and put their own care into production. Our transport routes are short, and communication is direct.

High-quality fabrics and yarns made from pure natural fibers are processed and delivered to the customer pre-washed.
What emerges are not seasonal, constantly changing collections in the usual fashion sense, but the opposite:

'I see Wolfen more as a community of blouses, sweaters, scarves, and cardigans that accompany us throughout our lives.'
